As for Porcupines, I don't know a lot about them, so I can't begin to imagine, but perhaps it's something to do with their nature. My guess is that Buzzard is so named due to the bird's nature as a scavenger, paralleling the way a stalker makes a living retrieving artefacts from The Zone. There was another Stalker named in the book as Porcupine, as well as Buzzard. ![]() The character in the film (again, I haven't seen it) could just be named so as an homage to the source material. Stalkers who travel into the zone and then have children often have children like Monkey, with broken bodies but. Also, I think monkey could represent evolution.
